What is the Remembrance Run 5k?

The Remembrance Run is a unique event that encourages people of all levels of fitness to Walk or Run on a November Sunday morning (November 12th 2023), while remembering and dedicating their participation in the event to family or friends.

 

When and where will the Remembrance Run 2023 take place?

The Remembrance Run will take place in the Phoenix Park on the 12th of November. The race will start on Chesterfield Avenue and finish on Furze Road

 

What time does the run start?

The Remembrance Run will start at 10am on Sunday November 12th.

 

Who is supporting this year’s Remembrance Run?

This year’s Remembrance Run is supported by Silver Stream Healthcare. You can visit their website at www.silverstreamhealthcare.com for more information.

 

Who can register?

Anyone can register for Remembrance Run! There is no minimum or maximum age. We encourage everyone to participate.

What distance is the event?

Our event is 5km and we encourage everyone to walk, jog or run 5 kilometres while pausing and remembering family, friends or work colleagues who have passed, or others close to us who may be currently struggling with illness or other life challenges.

Yes a map of our 5k route is available to view below.

How much is it to register?

Entry is €25 plus processing fee per adult which includes your commemorative candle. Entry for a child is €5 plus processing fee.

There is also an option to make an additional donation to our selected charities via registration.

 

How can I register for the Remembrance Run?

To register in the Remembrance Run, use the ‘Register’ button on the Home Page of our website www.remembrancerun.ie or visit our registration page on eventmaster HERE.

 

Can I get a refund on my entry?

Unfortunately, there are no refunds available once you have entered online.

 

Can I get a Remembrance Run T-shirt?

Yes of course! When you select your ticket type you can add in a souvenir Remembrance Run t-shirt into your cart. The T-shirts cost €9.95 and come in Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra-large and Double Extra Large sizes so there will be something for everyone. You can choose to collect your T-shirt on the day of the event or get your t-shirt posted out to you for a small fee.

 

Where do I collect my candle?

Your Remembrance Run candle is included with each adult entry and can be collected at the finish line after your 5k.

 

Can I support a charity?

We encourage participants to walk, jog or run to support a charity of your choice that is close to your heart.

 

Is there a training plan?

Yes, please see our 4 week walk and run training plans on our website www.remembrancerun.ie.

 

Where can I find the participant information booklet?

An information booklet will be emailed to all participants closer to the event.

 

Will this race be timed?

No, this is not a chipped timed event so this means there will be no race results online. The Remembrance Run is about remembering and dedicating participation to family or friends irrespective of how long your walk or run takes you. If you would like to record your own time, we would encourage you to bring a watch on the day to do so.

 

How do we get to the venue?

For those wishing to access Phoenix by Public Transport there are several Bus options. The numbers 37/38/39 and 70 serve the Phoenix Park. If you travel on any of these routes disembark at the BAGOTT ROAD stop and there is a 15 minute walk to the start area. Alternatively, the numbers 25/26/66 and 67 serve Heuston Station. The RED LUAS line also serves Heuston Station.

There is a limited car parking available in the Phoenix Park. We recommend that you park in some of the multi-story car parks in the city centre and use the public transport system servicing the Phoenix Park.
