What is the Remembrance Run 5K?

Remembrance Run 5K is a unique event that encourages people of all levels of fitness to Walk, Jog or Run together over 5 kilometres in the Phoenix Park on a November Sunday morning, while remembering and dedicating their participation in the event to family or friends.

 

When and where will the Remembrance Run 5K take place?

The Remembrance Run 5K will take place on the 10th of November in Phoenix Park. The race starts at 11am at Chesterfield Ave, Phoenix Park.

 

Who can register?

Anyone can register for this race! There is no minimum or maximum age. We encourage everyone to participate.

 

How much is it to register?

We have differing entry charges depending on what type of ticket you want to purchase.

  • An individual ticket costs €20.00 plus booking fee.
  • A family ticket (The family ticket is open to either 2 Adults + 2 Children or 1 Adult + 3 Children. – Maximum 2 Adults) costs €50 plus booking fee.

 

How can I register for the Remembrance Run 5K?

To register in the Remembrance Run 5K 2019, use the ‘Register’ button on the Home Page, or HERE.

 

 

Can I get a refund on my entry?

Unfortunately there are no refunds available once you have entered online.

 

Can I buy a Remembrance Run 5K t-shirt?

Yes of course! When you select your ticket type you can add in a souvenir Remembrance Run 5K t-shirt into your cart. They come in Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra-large and Double Extra Large sizes so there will be something for everyone.

T-shirts can be collected from the following points on the dates/times listed below:

10:00am – 6:00pm Friday 8th November & Saturday 9th November 2019

  • Intersport Elverys, 18 Henry Street, Dublin 1

9:00am-10:30am Sunday 10th November 2019

Collection point is near the start line in the Phoenix Park on the morning of the race.

 

Can I support a charity?

We encourage participants to walk, jog or run to support a charity of your choice that is close to your heart.

 

What is the Wall of Remembrance?

Once again, we will have a special Wall of Remembrance erected at the race finish on Furze Road in the Phoenix Park. Every year, this wall is filled to capacity with signatures and messages from runners remembering close family and friends in this special way.

 

Can I share a name on the online Wall of Remembrance?

Yes of course. If you would like to share a name of a loved one on the wall of remembrance online you can do this by clicking HERE.

 

Can I share my memory?

Yes! Walk, Jog or Run & Remember someone who meant a lot to you on race day. If you would like to share a memory of a loved one with us you can do this by clicking HERE.

Tell us why you are taking part in this year’s Remembrance Run 5k and we will show them on a big screen during the event.

 

I have never completed a 5k before?

Don’t worry! You can do this event at whatever pace you choose; walk, jog or run. Participation in the event is what counts.

Where can I park?

Parking is limited in Phoenix Park and surrounding area. It would be appreciated if you can walk, cycle or take public transport to the event. Please refer below for public transport information or click HERE.

We recommend you park your car on Chesterfield Avenue near the Zoo, Papal Cross or in Farmleigh Estate Car Park. Both are approx. 1 mile from the Registration area.

Please allow 20 minutes to get to the start line.

 

When and Where do I collect my race number?

You can collect your race number on the day of the race or from 10:00am – 6:00pm Friday 8th November & Saturday 9th November 2019

*If you have purchased a Remembrance Run 5K t-shirt it will be available for collection at the above times and locations.

We strongly encourage as many people as possible to collect their numbers on Friday 9th November & Saturday 10th November to avoid a last-minute rush on the morning of the event. Thank you.

Alternatively, these can be collected the morning of the race from 9:00am-10:30am Sunday 10th November 2019. Collection point is near the start line in the Phoenix Park on the morning of the race.

 

Where can I find the participant information booklet?

Booklet will be available closer to the event.

 

Is this race chip-timed?

The Remembrance Run 5K is a non-chipped event but there is a clock at the finish line with gun time for the 5K run.

 

Will there be a place to leave my bag?

There will be a bag drop-off point at the start line village area.

 

Will there be on course toilet facilities?

Yes we will have portaloo facilities available at the start and finish of the course.

 

When and where does the race start and finish?

The Remembrance Run 5K starts and finishes at 11am on the Sunday 10th of November at Chesterfield Ave, Phoenix Park.

 

What happens after the race?

Each finisher will receive a specially designed souvenir candle, and a goody bag to mark their participation in this special themed event that will on the day include a unique mix of music and commentary.
